How to Choose a Traffic Cone
Traffic Cones have been around for 80 years. With original designs made of used rubber tire skins sewn together, the first patented traffic cone was invented by a Los Angeles street painter named Charles P Scanlon in 1940 to keep motorists from driving on wet paint. Since 1969, Work Area Protection, a Hill & Smith Inc. brand, has been making flow-molded PVC All Orange Cones™ at our production facility in St. Charles, Illinois. Today, the amount of options offered when choosing a cone can be overwhelming. Below are some basic guidelines to help you select the cone that is right for your project.
