Zoneguard® Helps Accelerate West Virginia Turnpike Bridge Replacement

During the West Virginia Turnpike’s first Accelerated Bridge Construction deck replacement project on I-77 northbound in Ghent, West Virginia, Orders Construction Co. faced an aggressive deadline: complete a bridge deck replacement in less than two weeks instead of the months typically required by traditional construction methods. The contractor selected the Zoneguard® steel barrier system as a temporary barrier solution to help streamline installation and keep the project on schedule.

Zoneguard® allowed crews to install 50-foot sections at a time, transport up to 750 linear feet on a single truck, and minimize anchoring requirements to just two bolts every 33 feet 4 inches. These efficiencies reduced installation time, simplified logistics, and resulted in fewer patches in the new bridge deck.
