Zoneguard® Protects Motorists and Roadside Workers in I-79 Work Zone Collision

Zoneguard® provided critical protection during a two-vehicle crash in an active work zone on I-79 Northbound in West Virginia. After a car was struck by a tractor trailer, it spun into the Zoneguard® median barrier at two separate points before coming to rest in the roadway. Neither driver was severely injured, and workers from Mountaineer Contractors were protected despite active excavation taking place only about 100 feet from the crash. The barrier sustained only minor scratches and tire marks, remained in working condition, and required no replacement or significant roadway downtime.
